"BELIEVE" re-release includes 3 new songs!

Today the "Believe" ep makes full record status with the inclusion of this year's 3 new holiday tracks.   "If You Loved Me" has been out for a few weeks and can be heard over there on soundcloud and soundclick.  

Allison Grey and I teamed up again to do "Where Are You Christmas" from the Grinch soundtrack.  Always great to sing with her.

Also included this year is a cover of Mariah Carey's "Oh Santa."   Far more upbeat than the other two songs, this one was just pure fun to record.

A nice break from working on the new record.  And a great way to usher in the holiday season.   The "Believe" project will continue again next year with a new song or 2 (or 3 - WOW) added each year.   So have a safe and fun holiday!   It's back to the studio for me!

Studio Dairy #3

i've finally entered the studio with this album.   i have sooo many songs that i've written in a short period of time for this record.   it's hard to let go of the acoustic versions of them.  the stripped down baby versions of the songs....   to dress them up in whatever fashion it turns out to be.   i finished the first of them this evening.   vodka in hand of course, as i like to do when i'm serious about making music....

i guess after the experimentation of the last record and the remix insanity of 'remixxit mmxiv' i wanted to strip the songs down and just make for real music that meant something TO ME.

the last time i was in this head space was when i created 'free before i die.'   but i'm not trying to recreate.   this record i can already feel is different.  it has heart and soul which isn't different then 'free before i die.' but it wants to be heard.   it wants to wash down with a bit of humor (is that sarcasm?).   it's too early to really tell but i'm having fun with all these acoustic raw demos....      i completed one studio track tonight.   and i love it...

"IF YOU LOVED ME" holiday single RELEASED!

"If You Loved Me" has been released as this year's holiday single and inclusion on the "Believe" collection.   Recorded during the new album sessions, this one is about missing a loved one most at Christmas time.   It can be heard on Soundclick and Soundcloud over there ---------------->

This song was almost saved for the new record and in a way can be considered as an early preview of the sound of that record.   Enjoy and happy holidays!

Studio Diary #2

10 original songs written and recorded on my guitar so far for this record.   i'm thankful more than ever for the creative outlet during this time in my life.    so many crazy changes going on.   so much uncertainty.   i'm sure that will reflect on this album.   "If You Loved Me" will not be included on this collection but rather on the holiday "Believe" collection as originally planned.
